Too Close to Home
Truth and Treason - the Movie
One thing I hate almost as much as anything is masks. They are of Satan and belong in the pit of hell. Like mosquitos, they have no redeeming qualities.
I just watched the movie Truth and Treason about a young man who used his brilliant intellect and courage to stand up against the Nazi Party, proclaiming, through illegal leaflets, the Truth of Godly principles, and the lies of the Hitler propaganda machine. He was tortured and then beheaded for treason.
It was the hardest movie I’ve ever watched.
I know about the torture and genocide of tens of millions of people during that time in Germany and other totalitarian countries, but the context was too close to home.
I believe all Americans must watch movies like this periodically. Especially young men. The reality of what was and what could be, depicted in these movies should rile our sense of righteousness and justice.
I believe movies like this should arouse us to fervently pray for courage to die for the causes of Christ. When a lie is preached as truth, we should pray that we be willing to die for Truth to be broadcast.
I believe movies like this should drive us to our knees in repentance for taking for granted the tenuous nature of our freedoms.
We came dangerously close to losing our freedom less than a year ago.
· Government censorship of speech? It happened.
· State-run propaganda media? It happened.
· Digital IDs controlling travel & association? It happened.
· Imprisonment for made-up crimes? It happened.
· Forced medical procedures on citizens, a practice once reserved for livestock and slaves? It happened.
This isn’t a conspiracy theory. It’s our recent history. It’s the same playbook used against the German people, and we must never forget how quickly it can unfold.
Had it not been for our Constitution of the United States of America and a few good people inspiring the masses to wake up, our fate would have become what I saw in this movie. By God’s great mercy, we were spared.
When I left theatre, a man wearing a mask walked in my direction. My normal visceral reaction of disdain changed to apathy. In the grand scheme of things that I need to concern myself with, the mask is nothing. It is a tiny insect. My enemy is the father of lies who must be rebuked by the power vested in me as a child of the living God. The same power that raised Jesus from the dead lives in all of His disciples.
There is evil lurking of the highest magnitude. And it is up to us to stay alert, fight and pray we are willing to die for Truth.

We also saw it and AGREE totally with you and Warren! Bonhoeffer is another good look into the rich value of Christian Biblical values and righteousness! We pray for our enemies, and we fight for freedom! Jac and Cy
Well stated....We as Christians cannot become complacent...we have sooo much work to do for the Kingdom .....and to fight for Liberty
